When Evie first came home and told me she wanted to be in the talent show, I was not surprised. I am blessed with a smart little girl and when she sets her mind to do something, she gets it done. She already had her song picked out, which was Real in Rio from the Rio soundtrack. Since the sassy little thing takes dance, my thought was that her dance teacher could teach her a rountine for the show. Well Ms. Jamie taught her a cute little jazz routine. Come rehearsal day, Evie was ready to get her groove on and the dancing began. It was not the dance Ms. Jamie had taught her, but it was totally and completley Evie. Spinning in circles and throwing herself on the ground and back up again. I laughed until I cried tears of joy!!! Then the talent show day came and Evie said she was a little nervous, but she went out there and danced in front a room full of people all by herself. I loved every minute of it!! Being her mom is one of my greatest blessings. Here are some of my favorite images from Evie’s talents show day!! I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Also, she picked out the costume and insisted on blue feathers in her hair, so she could look like a blue macaw.
Could these two be any cuter?? Loved everything about this session. It had been raining for over a week, so I was terrified that is was going to be another rainy day. We were blessed with gorgeous weather and a breathtaking sunset. Lynne and Mark are adorable together and so much fun. Here are a few or more than a few of my favorites. 🙂
Denise and Jonah
Venue: Gaslight House
Spring was definitely in the air when Denise and Jonah tied the knot. They were married in a very touching Ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends and watching them say their handwritten vows to eachother brought tears to everyones eye’s. It was such a joy to meet two people so in love and watch their wedding story unfold. I loved the baby’s breathe bouquet’s and all the details of this wedding. Here are some of my favorite moments from this special day.
Lauren and Trey
They met during a job interview and are completely opposite, but totally head over heels for eachother. Trey proposed to Lauren at the Vulcan, so I thought it would be special to start their session where Lauren said “Yes.” They both enjoy spending time checking out aquariums and zoo’s so we spent time at the Birmingham Zoo for the second part of their engagement session. Here are just a few favs from our fun day at Vulcan and the Zoo!!!
Stephanie and Jordan
Oak Mountain State Park
Check out this super cute outdoorsy couple!! Stephanie and Jordan met in Sunday school at Hunter Street Baptist Church. She had only been a few times and introduced herself to everyone and met Jordan. She found out Jordan co-owned a company and she went into Saleswoman Stephanie mode and although she didn’t get him as a new client, it was a start to a new friendship and crush. It finally led into a date proposal that was via text message and contingent on whether or not he got back from hunting in time… Sounds like he was playing hard to get! lol!! He did make it back in time for a movie and they have been dating ever since. They love working on projects together and renovating a house that they will live in together once they are married. Also, they like exploring the outdoors, snake hunting on the banks of the warrior river (snakes scare me). Something I found very sweet that they do together is that they enjoy reading devotionals and praying together.
Their Proposal Story in Stephanie’s own words!!
Wednesday December 12th, 2013, I get up really really early for me and drive all the way out to McCalla to put a bouquet of flowers with greens, whites and reds on the hood of his truck with sappy love card and bag full of his favorite candy for him to have a happy before heading to work. I drive to work and I’m anxiously waiting for him to message me with delight, instead hours go by and I message him to make sure that some crazy didn’t see me put something on the car and steal the goods before he could find them. All was good and Jordan responded with Thank you for the gifts, I love you, Happy Anniversary… Yeah, that didn’t go over well with me. I started thinking like really I went through all of that and all I get is a thank you via text message!! It progressed into me pouting and telling him in more words that I always do things for him and he doesn’t, doesn’t care, blah blah. Yeah, I was whiney. He ended up sending me a text saying “If you only knew”. My reaction was oh Hell naw! If you only knew!” Hahaha, I calmed down and realized it wasn’t worth getting upset over, he asked me out to dinner across from my office since I had to work late. I agreed and began looking forward to getting away from the office for dinner at Brio with my man. I ended up leaving work earlier then expected and ran home to freshen up. Jordan came over and I apologized again for earlier reaction to the anniversary gift. He seemed distracted and distant so I knew it was probably all my doing and felt bad for getting bent out of shape on our special day. I kept asking him what was wrong and he assured me nothing. We went to Brio and he started to talk more and loosen up a bit. We had a great dinner and then he suggested we check out the Christmas tree in the courtyard. It was freezing cold but I enjoyed finding some warm under his arm and trying to figure out why he was so amazed by the tree. Asking stupid questions about the decorations and who decorates, how tall are the ladders, lol. He asked me if I was upset that he didn’t get me a gift for our anniversary and I honestly said, “no, all I want is to know that you love me”. He grinned and told me he had lied, I was like umm… ok… about what? He pulled out a box and got on his knee and asked me if I would do him the honor of spending the rest of my life with him as his wife. 🙂 After 5 minutes of me telling him to stop playing and that the joke was not funny, I said yes and let him get off his knee to put the ring on my finger. To catch me off guard the way he did, his proposal is my personal favorite of all the ones I’ve witnessed or heard.”
Love their proposal story!! I’m so excited to be a part of their wedding! We had a blast at their engagement session. It was at the petting zoo at Oak Mountain State Park. Sometimes the animals like to get really close and a donkey even tried to take my camera bag away. Here are a few of my favorites from our fun day.
